It may be useful to develop peripheral markers, for the diagnosis and prognosis of Parkinson~s disease during lifetime. Malondialdehyde content was increased in patients with PD (2 fold), with respect to the activity of superoxide-dismutase (p<0.001). The levels of glutathione (p<0.001) and blood thiols were decreased. No changes were observed in gamma-GTP, glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase.
